For a bit more about the shows and other things I'm doing and thinking, check out www.theresacaldwell.com. It's new, and will get an even newer look in the coming months so stay tuned!

Say It By Heart explores the art of communicating with others — effectively and honestly sharing who we are, how we feel, and what we need from those around us.

Theresa Caldwell takes a high energy, entertaining dive into the ways we embrace each other with words and touch, but won’t shy away from tough talk when it’s needed. Anyone can successfully share thoughts the way a musician brilliantly shares a song. It just takes guidance and practice. A listener may not be able to take a song and play it by heart, but with Theresa Caldwell’s support they’ll be able to Say It By Heart.

“Those around us” range from lovers and children to colleagues and customers. We do a lot of talking, have several devices to help us talk and/or listen and we are bombarded by information. However, it’s still a challenge to be understood. And that’s the good stuff. What about when there’s bad news to share?

Theresa has more than 20 years of multifaceted media experience.

Currently, she is the producer/substitute host of WHUR-FM’s “The Audrey Chapman Show,” the top-rated relationship and self-help talk show based in Washington, DC.

Theresa also serves as deputy communications director in the office of Congressman Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. (D-IL), and as an on-site assistant to the regional publicist for the legendary Newport Jazz Festival (Newport, RI).

Theresa’s past media and public relations experiences include: co-host of “Business Her Way,” a live, daily talk show focusing on women’s business concerns on WDMV-AM and www.businessherway.net; producing UMTV’s (University of Maryland cable channel) award-winning special “David Driskell: The Symbolic Language of Art”; narrating a Public Radio International special on the late Texas Member of Congress Barbara Jordan; serving as an editor and on-air news anchor for Monitor Radio (The Christian Science Monitor radio service); producing and writing in the news departments of the CBS and NBC television affiliates in Boston, MA as well as New England Cable News (NECN).

In addition to her media work, Theresa uses her varied communications skills to augment her work as a life transition coach, workshop leader and political advocate, including serving as manager of Sandi Jackson’s winning campaign for alderman of Chicago’s 7th Ward, and press secretary for the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. Theresa is also an accomplished member of Toastmasters International, winning the 2005 District 27 Table Topics impromptu speaking contest (the highest level achieved in that competition). She has also earned the distinctions of Competent Toastmaster, Competent Leader and Advanced Toastmaster-Bronze while serving as a club officer for three of the last four years.
